Delighted To Be 41

Nathanial made me a Lego cake.
Since I have a blog I give myself the privilege to write about my birthday. It isn't a big deal to turn 41, but it establishes me into my 40s quite well.
Bryon, the kids ,and my mom went all out to make it a real surprise day. I didn't get a picture of my breakfast in bed ( I must note here that breakfasts in bed are not a usual happening) but this one is worth mentioning. My daughter (11) had it all planned out. And mind you there were no soaking of grains nor health food in sight. The menu was a huge bowel of...are you listening? Honey Comb. Three cookies (check on Barefoot Tootsies soon to get her recipe -these actually were healthy!). And a bowl of jello. And of course all the coffee I wanted brought to me. Since this was Saturday morning I didn't want loose my sketching time, I had my drawing paper brought to my bedside. I actually completed another portion of my project! OK I just wasn't into Jello for breakfast but Timothy didn't care, he came down to visit my breakfast tray and make sure I didn't need help finishing any of my goodies.
I came upstairs eventually, to a very clean house. Candles were glowing all over, and 14 expectant eyes were beholding me as though I was about to pop into something different being 41. This began to make me nervous and I broke the happy birthday spell and loudly told everyone to go play (see where breakfast in bed gets you? You start thinking that the whole day must be quiet and peaceful).

   It even tried to snow.

I opened my cards and paid attention to all the fine details of sweet Abigail's efforts. And I got to try out my new weights Bryon made for me. 4.4lbs@. Here's to the card my sister gave me (something really funny about arm skin flapping in the breeze!)
Timothy loves to sign cards...and his face and hands:
Bryon took me out for dinner. And  if I am going to spend money eating out I want to eat something that I cant make at home. But something I will try. and keep trying...Thai basil sauce, someday. But we had a real nice time. Probably our first real date in a year!  When we got home Abigail had a cake made and we all pigged out on cake and ice cream.
Then as if that wasn't enough, my sister and her family came the next day and brought some much needed kitchen utensils, scrumptious lasagne, soup, and more cake!
I felt loved. and still do.
