Todays Excitement

As if it wasn't already exciting enough with 9 kids running in and out of the house, screen door constantly slamming and those bells I have hanging to alert me of an escapee just about got pitched, dripping, in wet clothes at the door, asking for Popsicles, letting the fearless 15 month old out to wander thru the woods alone, discussing a variety of fairness issues, complaining about the 98 something degree heat, etc. then I heard Nathanial yelling.

Nathanial is an emotional young man but he is not a dramatic one- honesty truly wouldn't let him. Still no one took him serious as he hollered at the top of his voice, " I'm going to have to go to the hospital, I'm going to die.!" Even sounds kind of fake.

Fortunately Bryon was working on a new house five miles down the road and was able to come home right away to establish order and crowd control. All the kids were crying and I was near hysterics. By the time Bryon got home everything settled down a bit and everyone was staring at Nathanial's knee as he made the gash "talk". We considered making eyes with a magic marker but I didn't want the ER folks to freak out.
Back home again with 10 stitches administered by the professionals at Sidney Memorial- No, Bryon didn't attempt this one, but he watched closely as to be better prepared if any further occasion should arise.

  1. Jessica, I am so sorry to hear what you and your family went through today. I will keep you all in my prayers. Give Nathanial a hug from me. Love,

  2. He will love that scar forever and show it off a million times. "Ha-ha" he will say..."you should have seen my mother freak out!"
