Bryon and I had put off putting gutters up and had been looking and waiting to run across the old fashioned galvanized round steel gutters. It really was turning into a problem with ice on the steps and making it impossible to have any planting at the porch.
We never did find what we were looking for, instead, I happened to be looking closely at a photo of an old barn and there discovered how their guttering was done. We like this even better, plus we had all the stuff just waiting in the shop. We didn't worry about making a replication, we just wanted it to work with what we had available.

| We used the ceder boards that we had left over from siding the house. |
| Bryon welded 4 brackets that would hold out the guttering far enough away from the roof edge | . |
| He then flattened a copper pipe to join the two boards together and sealed all the seams with tar. |
| It's working beautifully |
I tried for years to figure out an alternative to aluminium gutters and here it is! an absolutely great idea and job! you are so smart Bryon!
