For under $32 at Menards for a 12'x15' canvas drop cloth I thought it would be worth a try. I wasn't likely to find a better deal. Now, my sister might, Queen of The Thrift Store finds, she finds everything. All we need to do is whisper our needs and lo, she found that "something" yesterday ~ try her!
But no, I wanted to make it myself: stab pins in my fingers, wrestle with 12 square yards of canvas, make the seat cushions over at least twice apiece, and oh, try out my new ruffler attachment! What else was I going to do, Bryon took the kids sledding!
I love the wrinkly cotton look. I love the fact that my heals don't catch the fabric ~ that's very important to me. We all love not having to adjust (all day) the sheet that I insist on covering the couch with during the summer. I also love that it took only 2 afternoons to complete!
This project turned my couch into a sofa...
...And is completely kid friendly, even though it is currently white!

I even liked your "before" picture, but the slipcover looks great! I would love to have your sewing skills :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yes the "couch" was/is in great shape and form~ well worth giving it a new look.
